I went at Costco to get supplies for my catering business. Although I usually rely on Costco's business delivery service, I ran out of time to place my order before the cutoff day. I decided to shop in-store for the ingredients needed for a wedding catering job. While I was about to pick up an 18-pack of chicken breasts, an employee named Rhandall approached me to ask how much I needed. He offered me a box of chicken at a wholesale price and didn't hesitate to head to the back and get boxes of chicken from the warehouse. It was very nice to encounter such a proactive employee who took the initiative to help without being asked!
Great store with friendly staff. Always a pleasant experience shopping at this Costco. Parking can be tight sometimes so make sure to go towards the back of the lot and not fuss over a spot slightly closer to the entrance. Can be very busy around events happening at the Canadian Tire Centre so plan accordingly. They have recently switched to propane refills purchased by the litre as opposed to a pre-set, prepaid amount.
Good produce and products. Be aware of large quantities. So, you'll need to be prepared to save stuff so things don't go bad. Parking is usually difficult on weekends, but midday weekdays are better. Don't go shopping when hungry, like we did. We ended up buying all sorts of stuff.
Obviously you have to be a large family to really take advantage of Costco, since everything there comes in multiple portions, big sizes or bulk ... but we first had our membership, as a small family, when my son was born, to save on diapers, and it was so much worth it. Then we went many years without a membership, but a few years ago we signed up again because you can't really beat Costco's quality of produce and frozen fruits and vegetables at great prices. There are also other items we only buy at Costco, such as batteries, car air-freshener, laundry detergent and carbonated water. Also toast and skinless/boneless chicken breasts are excellent there ... not to mention large trays of fruit, vegetable and cookie for office parties and family get-togethers. Last but not least, Costco has now become a destination for eyewear. I got prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses from excellent brands there, at a rate that's very competitive compared to other optical stores. I also hear that Costco is the place to go for electronics and cellphones, as well as winter tires, but I never bought mine from there.
We love Costco. This store seems to be very well managed. Great customer service. Lots of variety, lots of samples. Almost always ample parking available unless it’s the holiday season. My only feedback is to PLEASE add an option to purchase dipping sauce at the food court. I will happily pay for a plum sauce to dip my fries in but it’s not an option and they won’t give them to you unless you order chicken strips.
Standard costo experience. If you've never been its a good store, bulk purchase of generally upper middle quality for middle prices. There are nicer stores, and there are cheaper stores. But if you want consistent good quality for a decent price costco tends to be hard to beat. It tends to be busy and crowded.
Alcohol now available at Costco! Reasonably priced... a small selection. I bought a nice Pinot for 15. A case of Corona is 44.99... Great to be able to buy with regular shopping!!
Another GREAT SERVICE at Costco Tire Centre Merivale Rd; by Courtney Thomson & Colin Gemmell. They consistently give fantastic customer care & service. They are fine ambassadors for Costco. Thank you to them both!
